I’m back with another edition of Proud Mommy Moments!

For more info on what PMM is all about, see this post. Please make sure that if you’re linking up, you’re actually linking a Proud or Not-So-Proud Mommy moment. Links not related to PMM will be deleted and deleting links makes me feel bad. Please don’t make me feel bad.

Buster has once again decided to grace us with his presence on Proud Mommy Moments. Lucky us!

This past weekend, we went to visit my brother and sister-in-law on the other side of the state. After dinner on Saturday, my brother set up a bon fire. (It was 80+ degrees out, and yes, we are crazy!) My brother had also invited some of their neighbors down for the bon fire. All the adults were sitting as far as we could away from around the fire, chatting and having a few adult beverages (that’s what bon fires are for, right??), while the kids ran around in the yard.

Suddenly, my brother starts cracking up and says, “What is Buster doing?!?!” We all turned around to find Buster with his pants and undies at his ankles, peeing in the backyard. His little buns were hanging out beneath his t-shirt.

After we all finished laughing, I asked him what in the world he was doing. He said matter-of-factly, “I had to go potty!”. Like, DUH, mom! Isn’t it obvious??

I have to count my blessings here…at least he didn’t pee in his pants!

Okay! Now it’s your turn. Type out your Proud, or maybe not-so-Proud Mommy Moment and link up with either me or Emmy Mom! Don’t forget, PMM isn’t just for mom’s…anyone can link up! Join us each week for this fun meme!

LOL! Definitely better than in his pants. My son refuses to pee outside.

This was the first time he did it, so I had no idea if he was for or against it prior to that happening. LOL

LOL

We were getting our toilet fixed this morning so of course my boy had to use the bathroom. I kept giving him permission to go outside, but he’s definitely against it!

Lol! That is too funny. We had a few bonfires in the summer too growing up- it’s just how you roll in the Midwest :)

Bonfires are a summer staple!

Isn’t it just a normal boy thing for them to pee outside? I thought they all did that.

Maybe if you live in the country, but we live where houses are right up on top of one another. He’s never peed outside before. I guess I need to keep an eye on him!

He is so funny!!
My husband STILL pees outside (when he thinks no one is watching, LOL – do NOT tell him I said that!!)
It’s a guy thing.

I linked up this week! Aren’t you proud of me Mommy? ;-)

He really is funny. The problem is, he knows it!

My son learned to pee by going on the trees outside!!!

I probably would have taught them that if we didn’t live in the city with a tiny yard and houses all around us!

Grandpa taught Turbo how to pee outside. At least yours was in the back yard–Turbo shocked some poor lady driving by with the pants around the ankles peeing routine in the front yard. Yeah, fun times.

LOL! I can just picture that!

That is what boys are supposed to do, right?! Right!? Except they always do it at the BEST times, don’t they?

I don’t know…is that what they’re supposed to do? I would argue that they need to take care of that in the house…but then again, we are city folk. ;-)

LOL! My boys do that all the time at my house and my mom’s house:) That is one of the best parts of having a boy…not having to find a restroom when they really have to go!

We’ve had Buddy go to the bathroom in odd places, but not Buster. I was just so surprised that he just “whipped” it out and went.

I thought boys also went outside. We had a grown man neighbor who did when I was a kid, and this was in town.

We only have 2 bathrooms at our house. With R being potty trained I Hubby yesterday if he has to go he might consider using a bush. We are looking for a house with more bathrooms.

LOL at asking your hubby to find a bush. That’s funny!

I love that little boys think they can just whip it out and go when they are outside. My oldest peed outside once which would have been just fine except instead of going to the back end of the yard like I had suggested to him, he misunderstood and went to the edge and peed into the neighbors yard. They sat there and laughed as I tried to turn him around into our yard as if he was a sprinkler!

Oh! That is just priceless!! I would have laughed with the neighbors.

Been there! John has also taught Max to pee into a bottle while travelling ;p We were stuck in traffic coming home one Sunday after Thanksgiving and no bathrooms…or exits…to be found. Fortunately we were in separate cars or I would have freaked! I guess he was teaching his son “boy stuff”.

I would freak out of the peeing into a bottle. Too funny!!

My son would rather wet himself! What the heck! Hahaha!

Haha!! I have to be glad that he took care of business. I can only assume that he had to go really bad because normally he will just yell to me, no matter where we are, that he has to go potty NOW.

Oh my gosh…I love it! I’m sure one of my boys will do this at some point down the road.

I have so many of these stories. Boys are so lucky it’s so easy for them.

Reply

29 Kmama June 15, 2011 at 1:20 pm

I know. If only it were that easy for us. But then there might be an epidemic of moms peeing outside…because we never have enough time to go as it is!

That’s too funny! Definitely a typical boy!

Reply

31 Kmama June 15, 2011 at 1:20 pm

What’s funny is that he was never taught this…never showed “how” to do it. he just did it on his own. Definitely a boy thing.

I am cracking up! Thankfully I get to live these moments of having a boy around vicariously through you!
