Proud Mommy Moments: One of Each

in Proud Mommy Moments

It’s Thursday, which means it’s time for another Proud Mommy Moments!

For more info on what PMM is all about, see this post.

Please make sure that if you’re linking up, you’re actually linking a Proud or Not-So-Proud Mommy moment (using the permalink. Not sure what a permalink is? Just ask me). Links not related to PMM will be deleted and deleting links makes me feel bad. Please don’t make me feel bad.

For the proud:

On Monday, Buddy came home from hockey and said, “I have to tell you something Mom!” After he put his stuff away, he told me that his teacher tested him in reading again and he moved from a level J to a level M. He skipped both K and L, and is now officially reading at the level that the kids are supposed to be at when second grade ends. Did I mention we’re not even half way through his first grade year?

I’m proud of him for being such a good reader, but I’m even prouder of the fact that he is proud of himself for doing so well.

For the not-so-proud:

Buster is a huge Justin Bieber fan. What in the world did I do wrong to end up with a son kid that likes Justin Bieber?

Every couple of days, he’ll come up to me and tell me, “We haven’t watched Justin Bieber in a long time.” That means that I’m supposed to look up “Baby” on YouTube and let him watch the video.

The other night, I told Buster that he needed to get his hair cut. He responded that he wanted to have Justin Bieber hair. I then asked him, “So what? Are we going to call you [insert first name] Bieber?” His reply? “Umm, how about Justin Bieber?” I couldn’t help but laugh…but I’m still a little mortified.

Okay! Now it’s your turn. Type out your Proud, or maybe not-so-Proud Mommy Moment and link it up! Don’t forget to check out Emmy’s Proud Mommy Moment as well! One last thing, PMM isn’t just for mom’s…anyone can link up!

WOOT WOOT on the reading!!
The Justin Bieber thing though is funny. My great niece is CRAZY about him. Her mom had her a birthday party at the local bowling alley with the Justin theme. But it was her MOTHER I caught singing and dancing the Justin Bieber song.. mmmhmmm

His songs are contagious. As much as I don’t like him, if I hear a song, it gets stuck in my head!

Awesome on the reading level Buster!

Baby Girl has been slow with reading, much like I was. All of a sudden, this week…she loves to read. Nothing is stopping her now ;)

Yay for Buddy! It is a big deal to have a boy would likes to read and is good at it! My boys don’t really love to read, but they are both above grade level which always makes me proud:) I don’t even know what to say about Justin Bieber…maybe there are some girls in his class that have Beiber fever!

Jdaddy hates to read, so I’m really surprised that both of my boys like to read. It’s really nice!

I’d be mortified too, but wait. Didn’t Justin Bieber cut his hair so it doesn’t look all brushed forward anymore? Yay for all the reading progress!

Justin DID cut his hair, but Buster still likes the old look. LOL

My kids love JB too! Especially my autistic son. You should stop by and read his stories about him.

Justing Bieber is actually not a bad role model – he’s a good kid, just found himself in the limelight. I just hope he can keep his wits about him and doesn’t fall into what so many other young stars have. My daughter LOVES him.

Way to go Buddy!! I am always so thrilled when my kids get into reading. Right now Em will read anything she can get her hands on!

He’s a decent role model, but I am not a fan of his music, hence the mortification. ;-)

Lol! Luckily so far I don’t think either of my kids even know who Justin Bieber is. And so so awesome with Buddy and his reading!!! Great PMM

You are so lucky they don’t know about him yet. I bet Big Girl would love him. ;-)

Ignore that last comment. Whoops. A different picture and name came up wit the comment, so I thought it was someone else.

I bet Alex would like JB!!

That’s cute. I can totally see my Bud wanting to be like Justin Bieber. He loves to sing and dance. He was making up a song and dancing this morning.

Buster loves to sing and dance as well. He’s VERY into music, and navigates himself around our iPad like a pro, finding music.

Way to go, Buddy! It sounds like keeping him in K for that extra year was well worth it!!!
What is with the Justin Bieber hair? Dylan wants it, too!

I’m so glad we kept him in K for the extra year.

I don’t get the Justin Bieber hair. Luckily for us, Buster associates any hair longer than buzz cut as Justin Bieber hair, so we’re good without having to do the whole brushed forward thing.

Yay for reading!!! I love when the lightbulb goes off and they just take off. It is so fun to watch and see their excitement.

Oh no, not another Bieber fan!!!! Quick, show him Lady Gaga and hopefully he’ll forget all about the Biebs.

It’s amazing how much he’s progressed this year. He started out at level D and is now at level M. I’m so proud.

Oh my gosh. I’m keeping him FAR away from Lady Gaga!!
