Ahoy Matey!

Awhile back, I mentioned that we moved Buster into a new room and decorated it with pirate motif. Many of you asked for pictures, however, it wasn’t quite done at the time.

It’s still not quite done, but it’s much closer than it was, so I finally took the time to take some pictures. Buster is beyond ecstatic with his new room.

The view from the door:

The view from the closet:

The bedding:

Treasure map wall decal:

Custom wall decal over the closet:

Valance that Jdaddy made out of cedar, with a close-up of the rope “crown moulding”:

Pirate Ship Decal on the side of Buster’s dresser:

We have some more pirate decals that we will be adding to his room, but we’re just not sure where to put them yet. We also want to some fabric under the cedar valance that Jdaddy made, for a punch of color. We’re almost there…but in the mean time, we’ve started on Buddy’s hockey room. One more coat of paint and then we can start putting his room back together. I can’t wait to share that room with you either!

What a perfect room for a boy!!! My son would love that room. Our friends, his auntie and uncle, bought him this really cool pirate boat set. It’s his favourite.

Thanks!

Buster is head over heels with his room. He loves to show it to people when they come over.

The bedrooms stay pretty clean because we live in a 2 story and the kids mostly play in our family room. Buster’s bed is a captains bed though, so he does have toys in the drawers.

Adorable! Is it real rope used for the molding or wood? Either way it is really clever! The decal and valance are super cute!

It’s real rope, nailed in place. It covered up some old paint that had gotten onto the ceiling. Buster’s new pain was much lighter, and we didn’t really want to repaint the ceiling.

We have a parrot that we’ll put up once we get his TV mounted to the wall. It’s going to look like it’s perching on the top of the TV.

Any boy would love this room. Those all decals? Totally worth every cent. My kids have a sports room {share} and they got to put all kinds of decals of balls wherever they wanted. Love them!

The quilt is just awesome. I love the colors and the fact that the pirate stuff isn’t too baby-ish, nor is it too grown up. The theme should last for a little while at least.

He really does love it. It makes all the hard work (entirely on Jdaddy’s part) worth it. Yes, I’m speaking for Jdaddy. ;-)

Adorable! I really need to tackle the decor in my kids rooms. But do not have these kinds of skills.

I’m very lucky that my husband is so handy. He really can do a lot, and it’s very helpful.

I bet you could paint and then just order some vinyl wall decals though. Those are pretty easy to hang…and we bought ours on ebay!

I absolutely love the bedding!!! Cute, cute room. My boys have very plain rooms that they are now filling with posters on their walls. *sigh*

Thanks! The bedding is my favorite part too.

I dread the poster stage. We’re trying to fill up Buddy’s walls with decals and pictures and stuff to avoid the posters.
