Awhile back, I mentioned that we moved Buster into a new room and decorated it with pirate motif. Many of you asked for pictures, however, it wasn’t quite done at the time.

It’s still not quite done, but it’s much closer than it was, so I finally took the time to take some pictures. Buster is beyond ecstatic with his new room.

The view from the door:

The view from the closet:

The bedding:

Treasure map wall decal:

Custom wall decal over the closet:

Valance that Jdaddy made out of cedar, with a close-up of the rope “crown moulding”:

Pirate Ship Decal on the side of Buster’s dresser:

We have some more pirate decals that we will be adding to his room, but we’re just not sure where to put them yet. We also want to some fabric under the cedar valance that Jdaddy made, for a punch of color. We’re almost there…but in the mean time, we’ve started on Buddy’s hockey room. One more coat of paint and then we can start putting his room back together. I can’t wait to share that room with you either!

I can see why Buster loves his room ;)

He really does love it. I think it turned out so great.

What a perfect room for a boy!!! My son would love that room. Our friends, his auntie and uncle, bought him this really cool pirate boat set. It’s his favourite.

Buster is head over heels with his room. He loves to show it to people when they come over.

It looks great and so neat!! My son’s looks horrible…. I’m not sure where the floor is.

The bedrooms stay pretty clean because we live in a 2 story and the kids mostly play in our family room. Buster’s bed is a captains bed though, so he does have toys in the drawers.

Very Cute!!I love the treasure map!

8 Kmama March 12, 2012 at 12:42 pm

Thanks! I’m so glad we found that map online. We were going to try and paint something.

Love it Kristi…good job, both of you!

10 Kmama March 12, 2012 at 12:42 pm

Thanks! All the compliments should go to Jeremy, he did all the hard work!

11 Evonne March 7, 2012 at 8:51 am

My son would love that room! My favorite part is the rope crown molding.

12 Kmama March 12, 2012 at 12:42 pm

Thanks! I really like that too!

Adorable! Is it real rope used for the molding or wood? Either way it is really clever! The decal and valance are super cute!

14 Kmama March 12, 2012 at 12:43 pm

It’s real rope, nailed in place. It covered up some old paint that had gotten onto the ceiling. Buster’s new pain was much lighter, and we didn’t really want to repaint the ceiling.

15 knana March 7, 2012 at 10:12 am

It’s perfect!!! :)

16 Kmama March 12, 2012 at 12:43 pm

Thanks! I think so too!!

17 Nicole Q March 7, 2012 at 3:13 pm

cute!! it needs some parrots.

18 Kmama March 12, 2012 at 12:44 pm

We have a parrot that we’ll put up once we get his TV mounted to the wall. It’s going to look like it’s perching on the top of the TV.

Any boy would love this room. Those all decals? Totally worth every cent. My kids have a sports room {share} and they got to put all kinds of decals of balls wherever they wanted. Love them!

20 Kmama March 12, 2012 at 12:44 pm

I love, love, love the decals. And you can find anything on ebay now!

21 Emmy March 7, 2012 at 6:23 pm

Love that decal! So awesome. And the comforter too! Glad he is loving it

22 Kmama March 12, 2012 at 12:45 pm

The quilt is just awesome. I love the colors and the fact that the pirate stuff isn’t too baby-ish, nor is it too grown up. The theme should last for a little while at least.

23 Brandi March 7, 2012 at 6:39 pm

VERY nice!! The valance is awesome and the rope crown molding is so freakin’ clever! Love the bedding too! Fabulous room for a little boy!

24 Kmama March 12, 2012 at 12:46 pm

Thanks! Jdaddy did an amazing job. It’s so nice to have a handy husband!

25 sara@domesticallychallenged March 7, 2012 at 8:47 pm

Very cute! I bet he feels so grown up in there!

26 Kmama March 12, 2012 at 12:46 pm

He does! He’s so proud of his room. It’s fun to watch him show it to people when they come to visit.

27 Liz @ A Nut in a Nutshell March 7, 2012 at 8:51 pm

You made that so fun for him. I’m sure he just loves it!

28 Kmama March 12, 2012 at 12:47 pm

He really does love it. It makes all the hard work (entirely on Jdaddy’s part) worth it. Yes, I’m speaking for Jdaddy. ;-)

29 Andie March 7, 2012 at 11:18 pm

Adorable! I really need to tackle the decor in my kids rooms. But do not have these kinds of skills.

30 Kmama March 12, 2012 at 12:48 pm

I’m very lucky that my husband is so handy. He really can do a lot, and it’s very helpful.

I bet you could paint and then just order some vinyl wall decals though. Those are pretty easy to hang…and we bought ours on ebay!

31 Foursons March 9, 2012 at 9:25 am

I absolutely love the bedding!!! Cute, cute room. My boys have very plain rooms that they are now filling with posters on their walls. *sigh*

32 Kmama March 12, 2012 at 12:48 pm

Thanks! The bedding is my favorite part too.

I dread the poster stage. We’re trying to fill up Buddy’s walls with decals and pictures and stuff to avoid the posters.

33 Jessica December 26, 2013 at 6:59 pm

Where did you get the bedding? It is adorable! We are redoing my sons room with a pirate theme and I’d love to use the same bedding (they say copying is the best form of flattery right?!)

34 Kmama December 26, 2013 at 10:53 pm

Hi. Thank you! The bedding is by Authentic Kids and I bought it on ebay. It looks like they have a new version now, but I did find one listing for this bedding. Here’s the link to it:

I hope that helps. Have fun decorating your son’s room!
