I had another appointment last week, and because my first pregnancy was high risk, I will be having ultrasounds at every appointment from here on out.
Last week’s ultrasound was amazing. Baby Boy #3 (who will be referred to as BB3 from here on out) actually yawned during the ultrasound. And he did it twice! I honestly never thought about a baby yawning in-utero. I mean, why would they need to yawn?? It was such a cool thing to witness. Almost as cool? The tech caught him mid yawn and gave me a picture of it.
BB3 still doesn’t have a name. Front runners continue to include:
Lucas William
Alex ??
Matthew ??
I keep looking at the other picture that the tech gave me, trying to decide if he looks like any of the above names. I’m just not sure. What do you think?
We’re open to suggestions at this point.
As a reminder, Buddy is really Jack, and Buster is Nick (Nicholas).
Here are some rules:
- As evidenced by the names Jack and Nick, Jdaddy and I both like classic boy names.
- BB3 cannot have a name that starts with J (Jdaddy’s name starts with J, and obviously Jack is a J. I don’t want Nick to be the middle boy and the only one without a J name.)
- Zack and any other name that rhymes with either Jack or Nick is out.
- Ryan and Ben will not be considered.
- William as a first name is out, though we like it for a middle name.
I think that’s enough rules. We (unfortunately) have more, but these are the big ones.
Obviously, this is just for fun. However, if someone manages to suggest a name that Jdaddy and I haven’t seriously considered already and we end up using that name for BB3, there just might be some sort of reward for that person. I know that for sure I will be forever grateful.

Nope. Can’t do it. But I am so excited to hear what you decide, and that yawning…oh my cuteness.
The yawning thing… now that is amazing! I would have never thought that a baby would yawn in utero either!
I like Lucas… but what about Grayson? That was the name I picked out for Andrew and my husband hated it so… sadly, we didn’t use it.
Owen and Samuel are my favs:) David? Thomas?Christopher? Liam?Matthew?
Alex comes as my first choice, but I also love Luke. But I also like Matthew and Owen…not much help huh?? I am sure he will fit his name no matter which you choose. xoxoxo
I like Alex. We almost used that name for one of my boys.
I won’t be much help with that b/c my boys all have ‘weird’ names. But, I will tell you I have a certain affection for ‘A’ names and Alex is really fabulous.

How about Brandon? That’s one of my favorite names and you don’t hear it much these days (at least not in my neck of the woods). Brandon Lucas is nice. I also really like Samuel and Adam.
Why are Ryan and Ben not going to be considered? Ex-boyfriends? My husband refuses to consider any names that are shared by my ex-boyfriends– Jason, Adam, Ben, John, Josh, and Garrett.
The yawning is so cute!!! Lily kept opening and closing her mouth during our ultrasound. That’s when I was convinced she was a girl…already talking!
I still love the name Lucas. It was on my boy list. What about Andrew or Alexander?

That is so neat that they got to capture his little yawn in there! Our girl was so stubborn during her a/s we didn’t get any profile shots, but we did get a thumbs up. That was pretty sweet

Weird names I like are Vaughn ( nickname Van), Ezra, and Percival (nickname Perry!), Woodrow ( called Woody) and Arlo!

I’m not being that person to decide. I hated when people had to throw in their 2 cents when we were picking names. So we decided to lock those names in what I’d like to call “The Vault”
I do have to say that those names you have picked so far are pretty solid and I like them.
And I had to have ultrasounds once a week too. It was awesome each time.

I like Lucas. I have two nephews, Kane and Archer (which is not traditional), and my boy is James (after my dad), but that is a J of course. I’m a fan of traditional names too, but I tend to like family names. Are there any family members you could name him after or are you not into that?
What about Oliver? Issac? David? Abram? Samuel? Paul?

I love Ethan, and Noah too. Matthew is a nice classic name, and I ADORE Liam. I suggested that and fought for it for every pregnancy. I lost, obviously

I love classic names too, which I’m sure you can tell from my kiddos’ names! I like Lucas, but I think I actually prefer Luke over Lucas especially if you are going to call him Luke:) I wish I could find the lists from when we were trying to decide on my boys’ name, because I know there are some good ones that we didn’t pick.
