Proud Mommy Moments: One for All

in Proud Mommy Moments

It’s Thursday, which means it’s time for another Proud Mommy Moments!

For more info on what PMM is all about, see this post.

Please make sure that if you’re linking up, you’re actually linking a Proud or Not-So-Proud Mommy moment (using the permalink. Not sure what a permalink is? Just ask me). Links not related to PMM will be deleted and deleting links makes me feel bad. Please don’t make me feel bad.

Before I get started, just a quick note. I decided that I’m forgoing the blog nicknames for the kids. For future reference, Jack = Buddy. Jack is my first born and is 8 years old. He’s the one who loves to play hockey and sports longer hair. Nick = Buster. He’s my sweet, middle child and is 5 years old. He sports the shorter hair cut. I hope that helps with the differentiation. Jdaddy will still be Jdaddy and I’ll continue to be Kmama and Kristi.

This week I decided to share the love. I have a PMM for everyone.

First up, Jack. Jack is making me such a proud mama. He is so helpful and independent. Whatever I need, he gets. And the thing that really melts my heart is that each night, when I take Luke upstairs to nurse him in the nursery before bed, Jack comes upstairs and sits and talks with me. It’s probably my favorite time of day, and no, it’s not just because the kids are going to bed!!

Next, I have to share one about Nick. He’s been able to spell “Nick” for quite some time, but not Nicholas, nor could he spell our last name. Actually, he flat our refused to try to learn to spell Nicholas because he said it wasn’t his name. Nice. Anyway, within the last week or two, he’s picked up not only spelling both Nicholas and our last name, but also writing it. I’m really glad he’s learned something while being home with me on maternity leave. I feel like he’s not getting much education/stimulation while home with me, and that bums me out. Sending him back to daycare in a few weeks knowing how to spell and write his full name makes me feel a little bit better.

And finally, I was going to brag about how Lucas slept 4.5 hours straight one night last week, but I need to balance that with the fact that he hasn’t done it since, and, he not only pooped four times in a row last night (requiring four diaper changes), but he also peed all over me. Little stinker.

Okay! Now it’s your turn. Type out your Proud, or maybe not-so-Proud Mommy Moment and link it up! Don’t forget to check out Emmy’s Proud Mommy Moment as well! One last thing, PMM isn’t just for mom’s…anyone can link up!

I remember my former sister in law saying that the first time her daughter ever wrote her full name it was on the wall…in crayon and it was so perfect and neat she didn’t know if she should commend her efforts or yell at her for coloring on the wall!

So I will be nice and not rub in that my grandbaby who turns 4 months old on Sunday is sleeping roughly 10 hours at night.. umm yeah. I won’t do that at all. Woot woot for Nicholas. Why is it when we feel like we are falling short in a momma thing they up and do something that makes us feel a little better about our parenting skills?

Alex was the same way with her whole name for a while but luckily learned it right before she went into kindergarten. And what a wonderful moment with Jack (hard to not type Buddy hehe)- so nice to have that one on one time to talk.

And ah boys and their pee!

You know… I feel like Andrew isn’t getting the “education” at home that his sisters got. Part of it is because I work more than I did when they were little and the fact that he’s totally different from them. Not to mention that getting him to sit long enough to get through his name or just a few letters is a challenge.

Jack sounds like a sweet boy!
Lexie is the same as Nick (it’s hard not referring to them as Buddy and Buster, LOL!). She learned her long last name, but still refuses to spell Alexandria!
