Proud Mommy Moments: My Helper

in Proud Mommy Moments

It’s Thursday, which means it’s time for another Proud Mommy Moments!

For more info on what PMM is all about, see this post.

Please make sure that if you’re linking up, you’re actually linking a Proud or Not-So-Proud Mommy moment (using the permalink. Not sure what a permalink is? Just ask me). Links not related to PMM will be deleted and deleting links makes me feel bad. Please don’t make me feel bad.

Before Luke was born, I had a lot of grand plans about what I would be doing while on maternity leave. I thought I would use the time to get organized, that I would learn more about my camera and how to use Lightroom, and most of all, I had planned to spend some quality time with Nick and work with him on writing his full name, learning his address and phone number.

I don’t know if it’s because Luke came earlier than planned, if it’s because he has so many tummy issues and isn’t sleeping great and therefore, requires a lot of my time, or if it’s something else…but my grand plans have NOT been accomplished and I go back to work on the 19th.

While I haven’t been able to work on “school” stuff with Nick while I’ve been off, he has proven to be an absolutely awesome helper. Whenever the dog needs to go out and I’m holding or feeding Luke, Nick is right there to handle the task. When I need a diaper, or the remote, or the telephone, Nick is there to get it for me. He’s embraced his “helper” role and whenever anyone asks him if he’s enjoying his time home with me, he answers with a yes, and also that he’s my big helper.

It warms my heart and makes me proud that he is enjoying helping me out so much.

All that said, he might be enjoying his role a little too much, because he’s now declared that he’s not going back to school (daycare) and that I should stay home so that he can help me. Drop off at his daycare on the 19th should be fun. Eek.

Okay! Now it’s your turn. Type out your Proud, or maybe not-so-Proud Mommy Moment and link it up! Don’t forget to check out Emmy’s Proud Mommy Moment as well! One last thing, PMM isn’t just for mom’s…anyone can link up!

Awww bless his heart. He is enjoying his new role and doesn’t want to go back to being the little guy. I feel for you on the 19th.

It’s hard to believe it’s nearly time to return to work already!

So awesome he is helping so much! And um yea nothing much ever gets done when you have a newborn as it is amazing how much time and energy they take. Hopefully the transition back isn’t too bad.

He will be an even Bigger helper at the end of the work day! Remind him how much you’ll need HIM at the end of your work day (worth a shot!).

I am glad he is embracing his big brother role!!

Time sure does fly! I can’t believe that you’re going back to work already.

When I have a bit of time off I always have grand plans too and for some reason never get any of it done.

Awe, what a good boy you have! Sounds like the 19th is going to be rough on everyone though. Good luck!

I have to agree, I did a week of training at home and my youngest begged me not to go back to work…hard on a working mom…
