Last week, my boys were both presented with achievements for being the Reader and Writer of the Month for their classes.
Nick received the Reader of the Month for his kindergarten class, and Jack received the Writer of the Month for his 3rd grade class.
I am so proud of them. They both work so hard in school, and it’s nice to know that it’s recognized by more than just Jdaddy and me.
Report cards came home last week. Jack did exceptionally well during the first trimester. He received the best report card he’s ever had. Nick did really well too, though we have some areas to focus on during the next trimester. The best news with Nick’s report card is that the comments all indicated that he is a good student who tries hard, behaves, and is pleasant to have in class. His teacher also said that he’s a leader amongst his classmates. I had worried about him being a follower, but I guess all that worry was for nothing.
As someone who values education, I expect my children to do their best, behave, and learn as much as they can. I think they’re on the right track, and I hope they stay there for the rest of their school days!
Here’s a picture that Jdaddy captured at the achievement assembly last week. I wasn’t able to attend due to work obligations (so sad!). I have to laugh at Nick’s forced smile and his dangling tooth, and hair that badly needed a haircut (which has since been cut). My little raggamuffin!
